Love isn’t canceled and this wedding story is just the positive proof we all needed!
Melissa and Pat were busy planning the wedding of their dreams. When COVID-19 came around and threw a wrench into everyone’s lives, they weren’t about to let that spoil their plans! There was no stress or anxiety about details or strict timelines; to two people in love committing their lives to one another in the presence of their closest friends and family, stress and deadlines had no place. They were able to overcome a difficult situation together and turn it into something incredibly beautiful.
Melissa and Pat rented a beautiful brownstone in South Philadelphia and their families transformed the backyard into a gorgeous setting for their outdoor ceremony. Their wedding day may not have looked like they originally hoped, but it still looked pretty damn good. They shared their ceremony with immediate family as virtual witnesses watched on Facebook Live. It was so incredibly special and even though they weren’t physically surrounded by their loved ones, I know they felt wrapped in their support.
Being the only person there who wasn’t family or a longtime friend, I can sincerely say that I never would have known that their big wedding day plans had been canceled. Not for a single moment did they show disappointment – just excitement to start their journey together. They were so filled with happiness and their love radiated beyond measure. Melissa and Pat had their toasts, cake cutting, and first dance to keep up with all the traditions. They did everything that a wedding day was supposed to be, just on a smaller and more intimate scale. No less love, no less significance.
What better time to say “I do and I will be here” than when the world feels like it is falling apart? It was such a privilege to be a part of this intimate and meaningful ceremony. Melissa and Pat, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your special day!
