New Work: Security Snapshot’s logo gets a clever revamp!

Recently, Docupace Technologies, LLC, a company specializing in cybersecurity protection for the financial industry, acquired Security Snapshot, a business that delivers security solutions that manages critical risk, protection and regulatory compliance.

I was hired to redesign Security Snapshot’s logo to reflect the same branding as Docupace. This kind of request is very common in the industry, as many businesses change their logos to rejuvenate a brand, signify new possession, or simply to cater the ever changing tastes.

This was the old logo that was to be rebranded:

Docupace was looking for a logo that was masculine in style, using light blue, dark blue and grey pantone colors while incorporating a simple lock icon. Easy peasy. I rolled up my sleeves and got to work! Research is a critical stage in the logo design process, so I started by reviewing other logos in the industry to get an idea of what else was already out there.

After I had a general idea of what I’d like to design, I experimented in Adobe Illustrator and delivered the following initial concepts to Docupace:

After a few small tweaks to the initial designs, Docupace’s Director of Marketing was ready to present my concepts to her CEO. I was very excited to receive a “We have a winner!” email from her not long after the submission. I delivered the final files in EPS, JPG and PNG formats.

On a personal level, I love brands, logos, color and design. Adobe Illustrator is one of the most incredible software tools ever made and I can easily get lost in a sea of ideas for hours on end.
